LAZER STRIKES BACK Vol. 3 t.opsp.in/e0rPV

How do you continue the buzz on a classic album? Start accepting offers from Hall of Famers to drop verses on tracks that made the album what it was, an undeniable piece of Hip Hop art. On the original good kid, m.A.A.d city, the were three, count that three cameo verses on twelve tracks, which allowed a whole lot of real estate for Compton's Prince, @kendricklamar, to shine.
That's what made the album so special, he did it mostly by himself lyrically. You could argue that he did get a good deal of help production wise from the likes of @Pharrell, @Hit_Boy, @drdre, @SCOOPDEVILLE and @JustBlaze, but he didn't need to craft his narrative with flashy radio friendly hits and superstar cameo verses. It's admirable because he had his own formula that went counter to pop culture trends and he executed it flawlessly. The end result will eminently have a lasting impact on Hip Hop and influence the way a whole lot of upcoming artists go about trying to be successful in Hip Hop.
You may have caught it earlier this week, but @Young_Guru debuted the remix below a few days back in Austin with @JustBlaze by his side. That was before he performed to a capacity crowd at SXSW, further cementing his influence on music culture as a whole. In summary, I'll put it like this...when you add an @s_c_ verse and bridge old and new Hip Hop gap with two well respected artists that have never collaborated before, it's no surprise the the track has over 323,000 plays on Soundcloud in the first five hours...#TDE
Kendrick Lamar feat Jay-Z - B*tch Don't Kill My Vibe (Remix)
When it comes to experimenting with sounds and samples, you won't find more of a chef than @araabMUZIK. If you told him his music sounded like anybody else's, my guess is he'd kick you in the face for spitting such blasphemy. Personally, I appreciate that he's starting to venture into the synth heavy EDM material with a lot of the beats he's been putting out recently. I'm still digging his I Remember remix @deadmau5 and @kaskade's collabo together from his Electronic Dream mixtape.
If you're a movie buff, you'll appreciate the intro to the track below, which actually samples the opening Dolby Digital sound effect. Real talk, araab deserves some love for all the music he's been puttin' out lately. In case you missed it, he just released his For Professional Use Only mixtape last month and it's full of audio goodies like Runaway Bass...#MotionPicture

Like a clique who knows they're on top of the game, @drake's fam took to the OVO blog and let loose a freebie that will not be on Drizzy's upcoming album Nothing Was the Same. On the track Drake spits mercilessly over a @boi1da and @VINYLZ beat in a straight pissed off, aggressive manor that continues his tone on Started From the Bottom. I'll admit, I like this one a little more than his previous effort, but the constant verbal barbs and tough talk isn't a direction I had hoped he go toward on his new album. All artists' music evolve and when you're constantly stepped to like he is, I can imagine why he'd want to come at everyone and stick his chest out lyrically.
If you're expecting a 5 AM in Dallas, it's going to fall short of those expectations. I enjoyed the @DICERAW shout out off top, it was a fitting comparison because Drake's tone did have the vigor of a track like Thin Line. Not as entertained was @TeflonTom, who now needs to change his number after the recent shout out. Best part about it, it looks like @JManziel2 has joined the @welcomeOVO revolution recently, sporting a new purple owl on his Twitter profile (below). Game respect game, the lore of Johnny Football continues to grow legs...#Pimpin
Drake - 5AM in Toronto (prod By Boi-1da & Vinylz)
The track below might require some patience with the mainstream audience, but believe me, it hits it's stride after the 2 minute mark. On first listen, it reminded me of @MiikeSnow's Animal the way the vocals are delivered. The track features two other up and coming Dutch DJ's (@DJJohnChristian and @NilsonMusic) and is currently sitting in the 15 on Beatport. It's about as progressive hous-y as I can tolerate, but that comes with knowing your EDM boundaries, which is always a good thing to be in touch with...#HouseMusic
Nicky Romero feat John Christian & Nilson - Still the Same Man
The head scratching collabos continue this week with @Tyga and @2chainz on @diplo's remix of @psy_oppa's megahit Gangnam Style. It might be the first time ever I can say that a Diplo beat was confusing. At times it's slow and choppy to give the verses room to breathe, but then Diplo hits another gear when he throws his signature upbeat, trap style around the 1:16 mark.
The track below is on the new Gangnam Style [Remix Style] EP, which also features a pretty bangin', not-Gangnam-sounding-at-all remix from @djafrojack. Here's to hoping the next off the wall collabo sound more like Constant Conversations, rather than the Gangnam retread below...#Craziness

Back in October @RyanMcDMusic made a splash with his G.O.O.D. Music debut single Paradise. I swung and missed posting it, so if you're like me and missed it, check it out below...
It shouldn't surprise many people that the best Hip Hop record labels like @G_O_O_D_Music and Young Money are expanding beyond just Hip Hop into Pop and EDM by recruiting artists like @itsKevinRudolf and @HudMo. If I were asked to compare Ryan McDermott to say...Kevin Rudolf, I'd say they both compete in the same Pop realm with Ryan taking more of the R&B/Jazz style, while Kevin takes a more alt rock approach. Ryan's new one below has a breezy, calypso R&B vibe to it with @Hit_Boy pitching in a verse and production on the track. It's harmonious, uplifting and shows off Ryan's vocal potential quite well. Hopefully artists like Ryan can help fill this gaping void of talent in R&B right now...#Joy

Ok, so heres what I did.I took one of my favorite bands MGMT's song "Congratulations", put it in reverse, sped it up, and produced over it
