"I Just Wanna Love You in Real Life"

Remember that time Dillon Francis got tired of the haters and quit social media for the rest of the year? Well that happened last week as he released a brand spankin' new remix of a current dance favorite. Duke Dumont and Gorgon City's Real Life was a stellar collabo when it first dropped back in early June. For quick reference check out the video for the original below...

It's exactly as funky as you'd expect from two of dance music's best. Now picture Dillon's speaker reverberating, Moombahton rhythms applied to the original. That's what you can expect from the remix below. It has a lot of the same qualities of the original...until you get to the drop when all bets are off. It's a fun offshoot of the original, maintaining the strong vocals from Naations while adding plenty of bass and flare to make it club worthy. Give it a spin on Spotify if you feel so inclined...#RealLife

Jauz & marshmello Go 50/50 on 100%

If I were to pitch to you a list of artists that are due for a breakout in 2016, both Jauz and marshmello would be on that short list. They've both been lighting it up with remixes and original creations, it's only appropriate that they come together on a track before the end of the year. The best part about it is they decided to come together on Duke Dumont's Need U 100%. On the remix, they transformed a catchy pop/house track into a bouncy, bass heavy banger. There's a soothing, bass heavy vibe to it that screams Jauz, but the high pitched repetitiveness has marshmello written all over it. You get the best of both styles on this one and collectively they take the original to new heights...#NeedU100

Ocean Drives Gets a Bouncy Upgrade

When it comes to rhythmic Pop/House, Duke Dumont sets the standard. His latest single, Ocean Drive, is a perfect example of how to a simple beat and stellar vocals can translate to top 40 success. And now that it has reached those heights, it's a perfect candidate to be stretched and pulled every which way by other EDM artists.

One of those just happened to be up-and-comer Alison Wonderland. On the remix, she injected a whole lot of bounce and horns that reek of grandeur. It comes packing a boisterous sound capable of filling the most spacious arena. It's chill pop turnt up to put it bluntly as the kids would say it. Tip of the cap to Alison for changing the flavor of something I already liked, yet finding a way to keep it delicious...#OceanDrive

"Don't Say a Word While We Dance With the Devil"

There's something refreshingly 80s about Duke Dumont's new single Ocean Drive. I know...I know...I can already hear your eyes rolling since the 80s was such a beloved decade for music. Yet, there's a hint of Deep House in the smooth, synth-pop rhythms that make the track slightly less dated. You better believe it, if you give the track a listen or two, you'll find yourself singing along with the every-so-catchy lyrics. The real question is whether or not you're going to be in attendance at one of Duke's shows this fall. With his new Blasé Boys Club EP: Part 1 due out in about two months, there's plenty more to get excited about in the coming months for one of UK's finest DJs. I'll be in attendance when he comes to the Bay Area, you can count on that much...#BlaseBoysClub

"Your Love It Makes Me Stronger"

Anybody else in the mood for some soulful deep house? With Duke Dumont's heavy synths leading the way, Won't Look Back lives up to the billing. The track alternates between sassy pop vocals and funky rhythms that are just as uplifting as they are easy listening.

Chalk this up as the third solid single from Duke Dumont in recent memory. I won't go as far as saying it's as good as either Need You 100% or I Got U, but if Won't Look Back is the worst of the three and the first two were #1 dance singles in the US, I'll take that any day of the week. Cheers to hoping a full length album comes together in the near future...#WontLookBack

"Baby I Wanna Be the One You Just Can't Do Without"

The few cuts I've heard from Duke Dumont have been on point to the point where I'd be awfully hesitant to take a shot at remixing them. For example, Duke's new one Need U 100% has a really funky electronic vibe to it that is really easy to listen to. Check the video below that gives a solid example of how to dance to tracks like it..

Yep, pretty solid track, but Dave Edwards' house remix of the track blows it out of the water. It takes the track up a notch energy wise, which makes all the difference. The song goes from being a solid contribution to a dance mix to the party starter. Serious dap is in order for Dave because he managed to improve on an already awesome track and do so in a way that will resonate with clubgoers who find themselves helpless to it's danceworthiness. Feel free and give him some love on hypem since he did his part to add a must listen new track to your weekend mix...#NeedU100

"All I Want To Be Is a Little Bit of Certainty"

What once seemed novel now seems like a quick developing trend. Last night I waxed rhapsodic about Kill Paris's new EDM/R&B blended single as if it was the next big thing. Evidently he's not the only one headed down that path as Duke Dumont's new track resonates in a similarly soulful, but electronic way with the help of MNEK. To be honest, he sounded like Sam Smith for a minute, which is a hell of a compliment because that dude can SING!

Hold On succeeds in large part because of the contrast between the catchy upbeat rhythms and soulful vocals. It's not an easy thing to pull off, which is why I'm still a captivated by it. Whether it's EDM mixed with country or EDM mixed with R&B, I'm enjoying the different sub-genres that are forming as a result of electronic music becoming prevalent in pop music....#HoldOn

"Don’t Stop, No One’s Ever Enough"

Going on a year now I've continually heard @HAIMtheband's name bandied about throughout the blogosphere. I'm not going to pretend I know anything about their music yet, but what I do know is that when they start collaborating with some of my favorite artists, I'm going to start paying closer attention. That came a little over a week ago when @ducidni announced that he has a track on his upcoming album with Haim and @Hit_Boy...(Antennae goes up...).

Which brings us to the track at hand, feel free to grab a bite of the original version of Falling before diving into the dope remix...
Simple put, these three sisters and a drummer have a refreshingly unique style. It's a completely coin flip whether the remix below that @DukeDumont put together is as good as the original. What I do know is he did a great job of extracting the catchiest part and taking it up a notch in danceworthiness, but both versions are great in their own right. Key takeway, Haim is officially on my radar and they should be on yours too...#Haim
