Remember That Time Will Smith Went EDM?
Back in late August, video surfaced of Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff debuting some new music at the Livewire Festival. It wasn't just any new music, though, it was a completely synth driven, hard hitting dance track. Check the video below for context if you missed it...
At the time I was skeptical the track would be released as a single, but two weeks ago, the song finally landed on Spotify. As much as I want to write it off and hate on it, I'll admit, I gave it a few listens. Sure, it comes off a bit forced with the quasi-Jamaican accents and repetitive beat, but it's a hype track. There's an undeniable kitschy-ness about it, but I can envision a world where this momentarily ignites a club on South Beach. I'd even go as far as saying I might like it even more if I didn't know the artists who responsible for Get Lit. Take that for what it's worth, but it's an intriguing foray into the unknown from a duo that were mainstays of my 90s playlists...#GetLit
