The Chainsmokers Take On The Colourist

Here I am again in the familiar position of not knowing who in the hell The Chainsmokers are remixing, which is more often than not a good thing. I say that because they have single-handedly introduced me to more up and coming artists in the past year than any other music outlet on the internet. There's something to be said for that, especially when they continue to introduce me to new artists and music in a way that I really enjoy, EDM. If I would have heard the original before the remix, I probably would have been lukewarm on it. The Colourist's version is a catchy, fun Indie pop/rock track that is worth a listen, but probably wouldn't have had staying power on any playlist of mine. The remix on the other hand, makes me appreciate the original version more. That's what good remixes can do. The electronic infusion of life that Alex and Drew are able to breathe into the original takes it to a more happy place.
