Rated R Swag...Lil' Wayne - Single

Song is rather fitting for the night...and the festivities that any Friday night would bring to a young man tryin' to get in where he fits in. More of a vulgar storytelling session from Weezy F on this one with absolutely no holds barred on the adjectives throughout the track. It's tracks like this where I really do gain an appreciation for Lil' Wayne talent because like Eminem, so many tracks are autotuned or accented garbage that sometimes his talent takes a backseat. This one comes from Lil' Wayne's No Ceilings mixtape and probably would have fallen through the cracks had it not been for the video below...

Sure this may be a little over the top lyrically with it sounding more like a player's anthem for those out there who abuse any and every woman that they come in contact with, but if you can take it as more of a dreamy picturesque journey to the inner thoughts of every man, then you can ease off on the seriousness of the track for a minute and appreciate it for what it is. It's an unapologetically accurate portrayal of what a Rapper feels and deals with...one that any man would idolize. Yea we all wish we could have the confidence of Weezy F, but we don't so...there's a time and place for it, but his words can be strangely inspiring for those who seek to be the one who calls the shots in a relationship. Take it for what it's worth #agrainofsalt....quoteables:
"Damn she text me all day and night,
So pissed off she aint even spelling sh-t right,
I text her back, tell her it's life,
Now somebody tell them hoes, I'm single for the night"
"Dreads braided to the back,
I'm chilling but my swag on full attack,
And my girl acting like a brat,
So when she call, I don't answer I just write her back"
"Uh, and he been fussing all day with her,
And I make her feel special like a place kicker"
Man when I heard that line 'bout "so pissed off she ain't even spellin' shit right", I had to laugh to myself about more than a few personal occurrences that may have hit home with that line. Sadly, we've all been in some sort of text fight that resembles that, so being able to gain some humor out of a stressful/angry moment like that is refreshing to me. Weird, but inspiration comes from some messed up stuff sometimes...I may be the one who can listen to this and laugh throughout the track just thinking about experiences...but maybe I've been in more Bobby and Whitney relationships along the way. Got no problem with that, truth be told I'm better off having been through it and experienced it than to have been on the sidelines...hope you too can find some silver lining within' this 5+ minutes of R rated swag....
