Lord Huron - When Will I See You Again?
@lordhuron is a band that caught me by complete surprise while researching groups to see at SXSW. What I found was the aptly titled, Mighty, a 4-song EP released last November that has since gained them much praise, and a spot opening nationally for The Rural Alberta Advantage.
Of the 4 songs, you can't go wrong with any of them, but the one that stands out the most is, "When Will I See You Again?". Consistent with much of lead singer Ben Schneider's work, his melodies and narrative are strong on this one as well. It's a song about knowing that your partner has places and people pulling them in a different direction, and although difficult, wishing them well as they set off to explore what's out there.
