"I'm All Yours When You Really Wanna Take Me There"

It never crossed my mind, but a Far East Movement and marshmello collaboration makes a lot of sense. I know that probably sounds super contrived now that I have the song below as an frame of reference, but wow, what a dope track. The stop and go, choppy verses that Far East have become known for fit really well over the bouncy synths that marshemllo churns out. I'm gushing about the two headliners, but Tinashe's hook might be my favorite part of the track. Her mellow vocals cut provided the steadiness to allow the choppy verses to work. And taking it one step further, I got an intro to Chanyeol, a member of the South Korean/Chinese rap group EXO. To me, he may as well have been part of Far East Movement he fit their style so well. You know the drill, add this sucker to iTunes or Spotify before your friend tells you about it...#FrealLuv

Videos of the Week December 5th

There's something for everyone in this week's top five. Leading off is Kendrick Lamar's hype performance of Alright on Austin City Limits. Say what you will about Compton's prince, but you can't knock his ability to own a stage. Speaking of owning a stage, Rozes and Drew did their thing on stage performing Roses on the Late Late Show. If you're wondering whether The Chainsmokers handle the backup vocals, I think that question was answered.

If lyric videos are your thing and you can prevent yourself from wilding out to rowdy trap music, then Doctor P and Far East Movement's video for Business should do the trick. My favorite video of the week is hands down the South Park style visuals for Ying Yang Twins, Mr. Collipark and Atom's Booty Bounce Pop. Never thought I'd be so entertained by animated booty popping. And last, but not least, we got a much clearer picture of what Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice will be about. Yes, there will be some Superman and Batman conflict, but eventually they have to band together with Wonder Woman to conquer the savage alien beast. I know, sounds awesome, right?...#BatmanvsSuperman

Doctor P Goes to the Far East for Business

First and foremost, Doctor P is a name you should know if you're into dubstep. He's been lighting up the UK with loud drum and bass samples for the better part of a decade. Fast forward to present day where he's hooked up with everyone's favorite dance music crew, Far East Movement. When combined, their rowdy styles compliment each other pretty well. Far East brings an easily sample-able sound that fits well with clangy percussion, edgy synths and heavy bass drops. Apologies for the clean, BBC Radio 1 version, but if you're willing to be patient, you'll be able to cop this one on Black Friday when it hits your favorite internet e-tailer...#DoctorP

"Betta Break Yourself"

The fact that deep house is drifting more and more toward pop music isn't all that bad. Case in point, the deep house bass line wobble on Hook N Sling's new single Break Yourself. The hook is catchy and the bass line is enchanting, making it an easy track to like. The Hip Hop/Pop sound that Far East Movement contributes injects a fun, repeatable element to the track. The slightly computerized vocals are a cool touch and fits the swanky vibe of the track. If this doesn't make you want to kick the weekend off early house party style, I don't know what will...#BreakYourself

Help Fight AIDS, Join the Red Dance Movement

Over the years, the (RED) movement that was created to bring awareness to AIDS has manifested itself in many forms. Seeing that yesterday, December 1st, was world AIDS day, it seems only fitting that the world of Dance music do their part to chip in. If you're like me, you missed the live stream from Sydney from November 30th to December 1st featuring the likes of David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Sebastian Ingrosso. The good news is, there's also an album you can buy that has a lot of fresh new EDM on it to consume.

One of my favorites on the Dance (RED) Save Lives, Vol. 2 compilation is Kill Paris's remix of Far East Movement's There Will Be No Rain. The high octane synths and sizeable drops on the remix fit in well with my mental model of a Kill Paris track. The track is a great example of how consistency isn't a bad thing when you make awesome music. Go do the world a favor and cop that new Dance (Red) album because "700 babies are born with HIV every day"...#DanceRED

"Ooh Ohh I Love That Dirty Bass"

Whenever I hear the words Far East Movement, for some reason I think of America's Best Dance Crew. Maybe it's because that show was blowing up around when they were put on or it could be due to their act is so heavily centered around dancing. Either way they make music that's meant for the club, which jives well with my musical tastes.

Their newest single, Dirty Bass, is the title track for their upcoming album. It features a verse from YMCMB youngin' @Tyga and some heavy rhythms crafted by the @stereotypes. Check the newly released video for the track below...
No idea who is on the hook, but after a few listens you start wondering whether the track is catchy or annoying. It's a thin line sometimes in pop music, so indulge with caution and be prepared to have the repetitive track served up at a club near you this summer...#DirtyBass

Biebs Knows How to Live His Life

I used to think that @FAREASTMOVEMENT was relevant solely because of the stupid dope production of @thecataracs, but now I'm starting to think they're simple a living breathing placeholder for upbeat dance music. Think about it, what more do you need to make it in pop music when your group can dance and you have all sorts of legendary beat makers like the aforementioned Cataracs, @RedOne, @MrBangladesh and @davidguetta crafting hits for you? Shoot a @justinbieber cameo is icing on the cake when you continually churn out solid club hits.

The below track, Live My Life, will serve as their lead single off their upcoming album Dirty Bass, which should hit shelves in May. Isn't it fitting too that just as Biebs turned 18 last month and bought a $10.8 milli crib, he happened to provide a hook that's all about livin' your life? Hey play on playa, 18 million Twitter followers and you made about $3 million per follower last year, which makes you officially the most ballin' 18 year old on the planet...#LiveYourLifeSon

Buzz Track: Far East Movement - Rocketeer (prod by Ryan Tedder)

Just in case you thought Far East Movement was a one-hitter quitter, they hedged their bets by enlisting Ryan Tedder on the production of their second single that has just as much radio appeal as the that track about those Gulfstream jets.

Don't expect another club raging, uptempo anthem though, this one is more melodic and dreamy type contemporary in sound. Assist to the supposedly archaic Autotune that isn't too overdone that it's annoying, but that's probably because Tedder was on the hook. Oh yea, guess who wrote the track...Bruno Mars. Oh wait, guess who produced it...The Smeezingtons aka Bruno Mars' production crew. Fresh off the printing press is the video for the track below Rocketeer, give it a look...

Needless to say a lot of love and talent went into this track and while it's nothing special, it's a testament to what happens when people who know what they're doing collaborate. Question though, is @brunomars the new Ryan Tedder? I'll let you ponder on that because they have very similar repertoires writing, production and voice wise. Ryan has been in the game way longer with a seemingly larger scope (think One Republic), but not as high of a ceiling as Bruno (has had a top 5 solo album compared to One Republic's two top 25 albums.

It's a Friday and my stats say y'all come at a slower clip on Friday, so I won't get too wordy. Give it a listen below, it's a smooth track and should at least make you hesitate to click the buy button when pondering over their new album Free Wired...
