Fly Through the Clouds With Kill Paris on Out of the Dark

Coming from a guy who went by the name Chill Harris, Out of the Dark fits in quite well with what you'd expect from Kill Paris. The somber vocal sample and steady ebb and flow of instrumentation creates a dream-like, ethereal feel on the track. It's one of those lifted, flying through the clouds in your dreams type of tracks. Having posted many Kill Paris tracks previously, I enjoy how his style has matured to a point where he's capable of telling a story without a strong vocal presence. There's plenty to latch onto if you're feeling down or just in need of a track to mellow you out. Check it out on iTunes or Spotify if you're in the mood for a more long-term chill fix...#OutOfTheDark

"Messing With My Head in the Red Lights Baby"

Ahhh nothing like the refreshing dance vibes of a new Kill Paris single. Red Lights is what happens when a talented DJ finds the right vocalist to deliver the perfect hook. Dotter's raspy vocals contrast really well with the upbeat, disco rhythms Kill Paris delivers on the track. I'd characterize it more as "fun dance" than "club dance", meaning the tempo range makes it more listenable at a party or in the car than a night club. What stands out to me the most is the smooth, synth driven chord progression post drop. For added intrigue, Kill Paris threw some excitable sprinkles on the beat toward the end. If you're as smitten as I am with the nugget below, head on over to Spotify or iTunes to cop it...#RedLights

Kill Paris Continues to Churn Out Great Music

If there's one thing I look to from Kill Paris, it's funky electronica. Knowing that, his new single, where r u, was literally music to my ears. It ventures off the beaten path a bit toward a more experimental sound, but what you get are a succession of interesting changes in tempo. Take for example around the 1:04 mark where the beat shifts into this downward spiral of dopeness out of the blue. If you're keeping score at home, where r u is the second single off his upcoming Awakening EP. Oh, and if you'll be near Philly, DC, or the West Coast over the next month, you might want to see if he'll be in your area. In other words, I'll see some of you in Sactown on the 19th...#LookingFowardToIt

Kill Paris is Back With a Dose of Good Love

The artist formerly known as is back to his old bass heavy antics as Kill Paris. On Good Love, he flexes his trap muscles by sucking you in with a soothing vocal sample before hitting you in the face with a thunderous drop. It falls in that sweet spot of melodic trap that I'm slowly falling in love with as DJs get more and more creative, stretching and pulling EDM past it's boundaries of what we're used to hearing.

This new one will be landing on Kill Paris's upcoming Awakening EP that coincides with his Awakening Tour that will be coming to a city near you. And in case you missed it, he released a dope remix of The Chainsmokers Paris last week. Definitely give that a listen below and don't miss the free download of his new single...#GoodLove

Kill Transitions to Chill With Ease

Out of all the music stories that didn't get the publicity it deserved in 2015, I'd rank Kills Paris's name change to Chill Harris right at the top. In case you missed it, shortly after the Paris attacks Corey Baker decided that moving forward with his current name wouldn't send the right message...
Sure, you might say that the name change was a no brainer given what happened, but when you've established yourself with a given name, there's plenty of risk involved. The good news is, Chill Harris hasn't changed one bit and he's still making great music. Case in point his latest remix of GRiZ's Stop Trippin', where he turns the jazzy, sax heavy original into a cooled out, slow trap banger. It's easy to understand how the remix was "inspired by cruise control drives through the Rocky Mountains." It's plenty mellow enough for you to zone out and listen to at work, which gets the job done (literally) in my world...#StopTrippin

"I Love the Way You Operate"

Wow...this confirms the excitement I initially felt about BenZel after hearing Waiting. What I didn't expect was a collaboration with Tory Lanez and a Kill Paris sample as icing on the cake. Initiation is a track that will remind you of Drake or Trey Songz stylistically. It's that thuggish sing-songy R&B with a slow, heavy beat. Using a sample from Operate, the track ebbs and flows between a soulful harmony and slow trap. Very chill, but plenty of of intrigue on the beat with this one...#FargoFridays

Kill Paris is Taking Future Funk to a New Level

Big bass and chill melody is what Kill Paris does best. Despite the somber tone of the vocals on You Don't Love Me No More, the jubilant synths and cool sax more than make up for it. There's a subtle computerized funk in the mix that might remind you a bit of Daft Punk, but the deep bass is what I'll remember about the track.

The single is the second off his upcoming debut studio album Galaxies Between Us. The best part about it is he's giving the track away for free via Soundcloud. He'll also be embarking on a 40 city tour this spring to promote his new music. I'm pumped to hear the entire album and I've got April 25th marked on my calendar...#GalaxiesBetweenUs

Kill Paris Delivers a Silky Louis Futon Remix

When I see the words "Kill Paris Remix", there's an assumed amount of smoothness I look forward to when I press play. Calming bass and a steady dose of funk what I've learned to appreciate about his style. Add to that the added intrigue that comes from not recognizing the artist (Louis Futon) that one of my favorite artists decides to remix and you've got yourself a potentially awesome track.

While Silk didn't have the usual ingredient of funk, I liked the fruity woodwinds mixed throughout. It's a super chill track that fits the easy-listening dubstep style I've grown to enjoy. The best part about it, it's available for free download if you like it as much as I did...#Silk

Chill Harris Comes Through With Some Easter Funk

After an extremely successful debut EP, Kill Paris is back with a new single, The Walk. The track is scheduled to land on his upcoming Foreplay EP that will be released on Skrillex's OWSLA record label. There's a funky element to Chill Harris's style that I really like and it comes through in his new single. Add to that some live instrumentation and you've got yourself a unique EDM track that your parents might even enjoy on this beautiful Easter afternoon...#TheWalk

"Spread Your Wings Cause We Ain't Goin' Down"

If you're in the mood for some ethereal dubstep, you're in the right place tonight. Up and comer Alma enlisted the help of two EDM heavyweights Sound Remedy and (personal favorite) Kill Paris for her new sing Avalanches. The vocals are heavenly, the drops are epic, it's a really likeable track. Without a doubt the best part of the track is around the 2:23 mark where Kill Paris sinks his teeth into the beat and shows out a bit. Matter of fact, I'd say it's safe to say Kill Paris is quickly becoming one of my favorite DJs. Take that for what it's worth, but if you're in the same boat, that's good news for you because I'll be posting his new stuff frequently. Til then, vibe out to this avalanche of electronic goodness...#Avalanches

Help Fight AIDS, Join the Red Dance Movement

Over the years, the (RED) movement that was created to bring awareness to AIDS has manifested itself in many forms. Seeing that yesterday, December 1st, was world AIDS day, it seems only fitting that the world of Dance music do their part to chip in. If you're like me, you missed the live stream from Sydney from November 30th to December 1st featuring the likes of David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Sebastian Ingrosso. The good news is, there's also an album you can buy that has a lot of fresh new EDM on it to consume.

One of my favorites on the Dance (RED) Save Lives, Vol. 2 compilation is Kill Paris's remix of Far East Movement's There Will Be No Rain. The high octane synths and sizeable drops on the remix fit in well with my mental model of a Kill Paris track. The track is a great example of how consistency isn't a bad thing when you make awesome music. Go do the world a favor and cop that new Dance (Red) album because "700 babies are born with HIV every day"...#DanceRED

Halloween Means Ghostbusters EDM Remix

Yep, tonight's post was about as a big of a no brainer as you'll see around this neighborhood of the internet. I'll put it this way, when a talented DJ like Kill Paris decides to remix the Ghostbusters theme during the week of Halloween, my life is immediately made infinitely easier since it takes away the sifting, sorting and choices. The best part about the original theme is that it's almost entirely composed of synths. Not the snazzy new synths we have today, the old school ones that have become associated with the 1980s pop sound. Know what I'm talkin' bout? Well even if you don't, rest assured because Kill Paris managed to put his own stamp on the remix to ring in Halloween the right way...#Ghostbusters

Kill Paris Wants to Treat You Right

The real question is, have you ever heard an EDM duet? I'm talking like an R&B track that still manages to sound like an electronic track. Haven't? Well, that makes two of us and it's a big reason why I'm a little awestruck at Kill Paris's ability to weave the two together. Who needs traditional build ups an drops, that's what everyone else is doing. I can respect the ballsiness that it took to boldly go in a direction that other electronic artists haven't gone yet.

I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to the vocalists on the track, Marty Rod and Alma. I can't say I've heard of them, but that's never a problem in this neck of the Internet. Anyways, Falling in Love Again just hit Beatport if you're itching to cop it and Kill Paris's new album is set for a fall release on Skrillex's OWSLA label...#KillParis

Smooth EDM: Kill Paris - Baby Come Back

What do you get when you mix a timeless hit from the late 70s with new school EDM? You get a surprisingly smooth, refined mix of old and new thanks to the creativity of @KillParis. If you're thinking to yourself, I really like dance music and there is no chance I was alive back in 1978 when Player's song Baby Come Back was released, check the original below...

Mixing classic soul with Dubstep is not an easy thing to do, which is even more reason this will probably be a mainstay in my electronic playlists for the next few months...#BabyComeBack
