"I'm From West Side California, We the Realest State"

It's sad that attention worthy Hip Hop beats are so few and far between nowadays. I long for the days of Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Scott Storch, and Polow Da Don. Whenever their names were on the production credits of tracks, you couldn't hold me back from pressing play and nodding my head along. It didn't even matter if the track was for a rapper, R&B singer, or a random pop artist, there was a good chance I was going to like the track regardless as to whether or not it had words.

Fast forward to present day where Boi-1da and T-Minus continue to wreak havoc on the barren wasteland that has become Hip Hop beats. Sure, the Lil Tunechi verse is 100% fire leading off the track below, but Trill shines because the beat goes hard and takes no prisoners. Mad love to Redbull Sound Select for reeling in YG's new one and including it in their 20 tracks before 2017. Honestly, I need tracks like this to prevent me from going full on EDM and getting too jaded about the state of Hip Hop. Enjoy this one y'all, it's a rare standout production from two of the best...#Trill

"Oh My, Oh My What a Wonderful Time"

It's as if The Weeknd was starting to worry that the public perception of him was full-on-pop the way he's been attacking the Hip Hop scene the past week. First it was his collaborations with Future on Low Life and Jeremih on Pass Dat, now it's Travis Scott.

With all due respect to the first two tracks, Wonderful is by far my favorite of the three. It has that type of gritty, bass heavy production that Kanye West fell in love with when he started shouting out Travis. Normally I get annoyed with the use of autotune, but there's something tasteful about the way Travis utilizes it that adds to the value of the track. It's hard to mess with a bangin' beat (shout out to T-Minus and Boi-1da), a couple catchy verses and a hook that listeners can latch onto with ease. Love everything about this collaboration because of how well these two artists' styles work together...#Wonderful

"Girl I Miss You Like a Deadline"

It's no secret, @JoeBudden frequents many a strip club. It's also not a secret that the group he's a member of (@slaughterhouse) just released a really solid album last month. Keeping those two things in mind, I can think of no better combination of striking while the iron is hot by creating a single that you can listen to in your own habitat.

I'm not one to frequent strip clubs, but I've always had a strange affinity for Hip Hop tracks that encourage females to jiggle their hindquarters. In this case, @ProducerTminus did his part in making the beat as a strip club friendly as possible. Top of the cap to @liltunchi for bringing some A+ wordplay on his verse. Really solid start overall for Joey's new album No Love Lost, which is slated for a December release. I'd be remiss if it didn't note that @Eminem is listed as the executive producer for the album. Should be an interesting creation when all is said and done. For now cop the track below if you so choose...

"Those Lips and Those Child Bearing Hips"

Even thought I only half like it, I see what @slaughterhouse is doing with these single choices. With Welcome To: Our House less than a week away from being released, they decided to put out to singles that are complete polar opposites.

The first single Goodbye was an absolute slam dunk and got the contemporary crowd to buy in on their new music. Now, less than a week later we get the @ProducerTMinus aided Throw That, which will resonate with the @eminem crowd. I say that because it's vulgar, it's quirky, it's basically dirty Hip Pop. I've never been a huge fan of Em's dirty singalongs, so I'm not a huge fan of the track below.

This isn't going to prevent me from expecting the world of Slaughterhouse's new album, though. If you haven't looked already, check out the production credits...#Stacked

"Pool Full of Liquor Then You
Dive In It"

Word has it ya boy @kendricklamar's debut studio album good kid, m.A.A.d city is going to drop on October 2nd. I know, I know, what about Section 80 you ask? It was released independently, compared to his new one which will be backed by Aftermath/Interscope. It's  a slight difference that will involve a lot more money and high powered production features that should translate to 1000 times more exposure.

The goal for Kendrick's new track below is that it gains as much traction as his @drdre featured Cali anthem The Recipe. It'll come close because of the on point production donated by @ProducerTMinus and smooth, machine gun flow exhibited by Compton's prince. Shoot Kendrick even channel's his inner @eminem the back and forth alter ego dialog throughout the track. It helps the hook does down smooth too. Who wouldn't want a swimming pool full of liquor to dive into? #GoCrystalClearBelvedere

"Got a Mad Hatter Swagger, Boy I'm Stupid Dumb Sick"

"Go get it, stay about my business
Ball til I fall, flossin' til I finish"

With the release of @tip's new album Trouble Man steadily approaching and two singles already in the bank (Love This Life and Like That), now seems like a good time to let loose with #3. Similar to Like That, Go Get It is a high powered, bass aided trap anthem centered around stacking bills to the ceiling like a true hustler. Serious dap is in order for @ProducerTMinus who laced the beat with enough bass to feed a small orphanage. If you like the bouncy, loud and in your face singles T.I. let's loose, this one is for you.

Trouble Man is going to be the 8th studio album for T.I. and is slated to drop on September 4th. To this date, I haven't heard a track as good as Castle Walls or Poppin' Bottles, so my expectations aren't as high for his new one. That doesn't mean it won't be an awesome album, but all I'm trying to do is give you the forecast based on what I know so far...#TimeWillTell

"I’m in a Hot Wheel and I’m Driving Real Fast"

After a few more listens to @tip's new mixtape, I may have settled on a favorite track. Whether it be a mixtape or studio album, a common practice seems to put an intro followed by two of the best album or mixtape's top singles at tracks #2 and #3. Knowing that I naturally gravitate toward the "first impression singles" in those top 3 slots...especially when I see it features @IAmTravisPorter, @DROPOLO and @producertminus on the beat like Hot Wheels does.

The track is every bit authentic Southern trap Hip Hop with every verse marked by exaggerated southern drawls. Add to it a catchy as hell upbeat instrumental and you've got a great follow up track to the hyped up title track with Jeezy. I'm pretty sure every media outlet has leaked and posted that track already, so I'm sticking to the off the beaten path tracks that you might miss even if you check the internet daily for new music like me. It's what small time bloggers like me gotta do to differentiate from the Hip Hop blog heavyweights that have a staff and budget rather than a one man army like my own little piece of Hip Hop real estate on the internet...#InternetRealEstateWins

If you haven't already, please do yourself a favor and cop the mixtape at one of my favorite mixtape outlets here, here or even here if you want to get straight to the point. It's free on all three links, which is just part of the awesomness of Hip Hop...#FreeWinsInTheLongRun

"Workin' With the Negatives Could Make For Better Pictures"

If you're looking for a typical, "what you'd expect when @drake and & @liltunchi collaborate" track, you'll probably be in the group of fans that put HYFR near the top of your list of best Take Care tracks. On the track, Drake goes slightly out of his element with a machine gun flow on the first verse before pulling down the landing gear and smoothly passing the baton to Weezy on the hook. The back and forth storytelling and one liners offer a constant reminder of why they both comfortably sit atop the Rap game when it comes to trend setting and creativity.

One big thing that hopefully won't go overlooked in the construction of Take Care is the Canada-heavy, home grown production. With multiple production credits going to @producertminus and @ovo40, the success of the album will have a lot to do with their efforts on the album. It's interesting too, that @boi1da only contributed production on one track (Headlines) after providing a couple beats on Thank Me Later. Don't worry for a minute, though, because the continuity of Drake's well-known sound has continued in an even more original form with his new album. Jury is still out on the verdict for Take Care, but you better believe the lyrical content and meaning behind the album is as deep and personal as you'd hope...#Nov15th

"I'm So, I'm So, I'm So, I'm So, I'm So Proud of You"

With Take Care looming on the horizon and rumors circulating in regards to potential tracks, it was cool seeing the timing of his newest leak that lead up to his SNL performance last night. Set to be the second single off the album, it's a feel good track that pays homage to that special woman that's worth penning a song about. You know that special chick that is so bad that calling her underrated is a understatement?

As far as the collabo is concerned, the chemistry between @nickiminaj and @drake is undeniable. @ProducerTMinus did his thing by providing a simple, but still head-nod worthy beat for Drake to do his well-known harmony on the hook and rapping on the verses with Snicky. If you're wondering what to expect when you hear the track, look no further than the YouTube re-run from SNL last night...

Good god Nicki was blessed with curves, that's all I gotta say bout that video. Exactly 30 days left til Take Care and I have yet to be anything but pumped about everything I've heard. It's still going to have to be better than great to top Game's R.E.D. Album...#JustSayin

"I Tried to Pay Attention, But Attention Paid Me"

I mentioned the genesis of this track last night when I posted @liltunchi's studio video of him working in the studio on the track with @drakkardnoir. Now this is the heavyweight track I've been waiting for, with Weezy dotting his T's and crossing his I's on ever bar and Drake delivering a calm, but exciting hook.

The proverb worthy wordplay Weezy spits on damn near every line is exactly why he's on top of the game and currently ruling over Hip Hop like a King who understands what the new Hip Hop fan wants, and delivers it. The new school Hip Hop fan pays attention to ironic/metaphorically creative lyrics that make you think a little bit. In other words, everything he speaks on has a deeper meaning that makes you think. For example, "Karma is a bitch, Well just make sure that bitch is beautiful" or "I already know that life is deep but I still dig her" or "But I’m Ray Charles to the bullsh**". Nothing earth shattering about the vocabulary he uses, but he's presenting a fresh, new take on old proverbial phrases, which takes some creativity. Boom! Therein lies the appeal of why Drake, Weezy and Kanye continually set the bar higher with their lyrics.

Don't overlook that beat put together by @ProducerTMinus either, he did that. Also, word on the streets today is that this may not be the final version and that @rickyrozay is going to be featured on the final version here. Sorta apathetic about that decision, but after listening to the verse, Raaaawwwse did his part to fit in by elevating his game, I'll give him that. Still woulda liked to have heard a full verse from Drizzy Drake instead of just the hook. In a perfect world...

"I Should Dust Something, Y'all Are On the Bench, Like the Bus Coming"

It's been a few minutes now since @drakkardnoir and @liltunchi have spit on the same track together. Sure I would have preferred a Carter 4 track (due out June 21), but I'll settle for one of @therealdjkhaled's crowded cameo tracks over an @ovo40 & @producertminus beat. This is the newest single off Khaled's upcoming album We the Best Forever, due to hit shelves June 28th.

The track isn't a "Wow!" track, more of a way for three of the best to drop a verse alongside each other and contribute to an album that will have more collabos than Lady Gaga has outfits. Sure it's not their best work, but any Drake and Weezy track deserves a few laps, I don't care what anybody says.

As an aside, R.I.P to M-Bone of Cali Swag District who was murdered today in Inglewood, CA. Dude was only 22 years old...smh...chalk up another wasted life to pointless violence...
