"Oh You Hung Me Out To Dry, I Only Meant To Love You"

I've posted a few JAUZ tracks throughout the years, but none have been as dance worthy as his new one with ROUXN. Meant to Love has a gentle lead in, but gets after it with a balls to the wall, wobbly bass heavy chord progression. ROUXN's vocals are fun and melodic, providing a perfect compliment to the playful energy of the track.

Before diving deep on the track below, you need to know there's a half minute of stalled tempo around the two and a half minute mark that may cause you to move on to the next song. If you have the attention span to listen to a whole five minute song, you'll be rewarded at the end for making it through the peaks and valleys of the track. JAUZ takes it up a few notches around the four minute mark, turning up the bass and laying into the chords even more. It's a hype track that will be getting a lot of love this week on GWDJ Favorites... #MeantToLove

"Don't Let This Be Our Final Song"

As a daily consumer of music, I like being surprised. When I say surprised, I mean a lot of things. It's surprised that someone finally released a song, or surprised that two artists collaborated. Or, like the song below, it could be hearing the original version of a track after being introduced to the remix and realizing it sounds nothing like it's predecessor. For reference, check the original version of 's Final Song...

The original is a soft, snappy, singing ballad. Then Diplo and Jauz got ahold of it and turned Final Song into a uptempo, Trop House banger. The vocals find a way to maintain that sing-along quality, while the increase in tempo dares you not to dance. If you were to bottle up the word fun and play it on full blast, it would sound exactly like this. I don't like to wax poetic, but I'm going to wear out this Soundcloud link until it's officially released...#FinalSong

Language Gets a Tempo Boost by Jauz

Remember back in 2012 when everyone was obsessed with Porter Robinson's Language? Well, today, thanks to Jauz we get to relive a bit of that memory with some added tempo. For a refresher and a thin slice of nostalgia, check out the original below...

When it comes to a song telling a story by taking you through chapters with ebbs and flows of emotion regulated by vocals and instrumentation, Language sets the bar.

As far as the remix is concerned, picture the original with a frenetic tempo and a considerable bass boost. My favorite part about the remix, aside from the fact that it's free to download, is that it sounds so different from the original. When it comes to re-imagining a universally loved track, you go big or go home because if you hedge, it will sound too much like something people already like. I realize I'm preaching to the choir a bit with Jauz fans because if you've seen on of his sets in the past few months, a free download of the remix is probably a huge relief. There's nothing better than anticipating the release of a track you've heard live and learning it's a free dl, so enjoy this one y'all...#LanguageRemix

Passion Pit's Sleepyhead Gets a JAUZ Flip

Why is it that Indie music is so remixable? I've always wondered that as genres from Hip Hop to EDM continue to dip from the never-ending rolodex of Indie tracks. For example, you can twist any Passion Pit track a million different ways. Is that because of the unique, falsetto vocals or the lack a memorable instrumental?

I don't have the answer, but I do have a brand new example of how EDM as a whole continues to embrace Passion Pit's style. Here's the video for the original version of Sleepyhead, which came out back in 2008...

Man, it's something about those high pitched vocals that stick with you. Speaking of high pitched vocals, what happens when you speed up Passion Pit vocals and add in some basic samples? You end up with what JAUZ created when he Future Bassed the living hell out of the original track. The tempo addition is much appreciated as it results in a much more vibrant sound. The effort is evidently one of many that JAUZ is getting ready to let loose, so join me in getting excited for what the near future is bringing from one of my favorite DJs in the game...#Sleepyhead

Jauz & Marshmello Go on a Magical Trap Journey

In an attempt to keep the momentum from Shark Week going, Jauz reeled in his fluffy friend Marshmello for a tasty new banger. You'd like to think that collaborations of this magnitude bring out the best of both parties and I'm glad to report that mission was accomplished on Magic. You've got some sharp, intense chords from Jauz mixed with bubbly, whimsical synths throughout that will remind you of #mellogang. Both styles are brought together through a vibrant, deep baseline that serves as a reminder of how both are more than capable of speaker rattling, trap goodness. All in all a fun collabo from two of the biggest rising stars in EDM...#Magic

JAUZ Delivers Some Shark Week Goodiez

How fitting, another new track from JAUZ during Shark Week. For those counting at home, this is one of three new Shark Week releases from the Klay Thompson of EDM. First came his remix of DJ Snake's Propaganda, then Goodiez, followed by another new heater he let loose today titled For U. Out of the three, Goodiez is my fav because of it's funky House roots and speaker vibrating bass. To put it simply, it goes hard and refuses to take any prisoners along the way. The mumblin', bumblin', stumblin' vocal sample will have you nodding your head as it attempts to keep up with your hips. Honestly, if this is the direction House music is heading toward, I'm all aboard this funknasty train...#Goodiez

Videos of the Week March 11th

There are two clear cut favorites in this week's top five in my eyes. First, the live debut of Kygo's new single, Fragile, with Labrinth was more than a little awesome. What a cool ballad! I can't wait to hear the mastered version, which will probably be slightly more electronic. Second, Seal and Gallant's Weight in Gold duet in studio was worth a few looks. While Seal doesn't get near the credit he deserves, he more than held his own with Gallant on the mic. When they combined forces, the result was special.

Was it entertaining to watch Jonah Hill sing Drake's verse on Future's Jumpman? Yep, you bet it was. Glad they're getting more an more creative with the monologues on SNL. In other news, DJ Khaled is continuing his assault on pop culture through Snapchat. Now he's even landing on talk shows like Ellen to talk his motivational talk. Crazy how social media can be used as a tool to get so much notoriety. And last, but not least, Skrillex and Jauz released their new animated video for Squad Out with Fatman Scoop. Leave it to Adult Swim to put together something that trippy. Did I see Fatman Scoop with an elephant nose? Still trying to wrap my head around the plot of the video, but that's kinda of what Adult Swim does...#SquadOut

Jauz & marshmello Go 50/50 on 100%

If I were to pitch to you a list of artists that are due for a breakout in 2016, both Jauz and marshmello would be on that short list. They've both been lighting it up with remixes and original creations, it's only appropriate that they come together on a track before the end of the year. The best part about it is they decided to come together on Duke Dumont's Need U 100%. On the remix, they transformed a catchy pop/house track into a bouncy, bass heavy banger. There's a soothing, bass heavy vibe to it that screams Jauz, but the high pitched repetitiveness has marshmello written all over it. You get the best of both styles on this one and collectively they take the original to new heights...#NeedU100
