"We're Living Limitless, I Refuse to Just Exist"

When it comes to melodic Dubstep, it's Adventure Club, then everyone else. Their new one, Limitless, has the huge, heavy drops you're accustomed to, but also heavily features the vocals of uber-talented Delaney Jane. There's a soothing quality to the track that fits well with the repeatable lyrics. It's not easy to pull off a track that is relaxing, but packed with energy, but they somehow did it. Tip of the cap to Adventure Club for not only the track, but also offering the download up for free. Don't mind if I do...#Limitless

"I Don't Wanna Let You Fade Away"

As the energy and craziness continues to get ratcheted up more and more in EDM, I'm gaining an appreciation for the soothing dubstep rhythms of Adventure Club. What I like best about their style is that they usually lead with a chopped up vocal sample, but still find a way to deliver a post-drop exclamation point. Staying true to form, their new one featuring Zak Walters initially feels like an emotion soaked ballad, but fires on all cylinders around the one minute mark. The depth of the bass, high pitched synths and methodic tempo are what make Fade one of my favorite tracks I've heard in recent memory...#Fade

The Shadow of the Sun Goes on an Adventure

It's been months since I posted something new from Adventure Club, making their new remix of Max Elto's Shadow of the Sun more than a little timely. Had I heard of Max Elto? Nope, but what I now know is that is he's a great vocalist. Check the original version of his ballad below...

Like only Adventure Club can, they took the essence of Max's original track and crafted an EDM story around it. The track is so perfect for their style isn't disgusting. The stop and go Dubstep they infused into the original boosts the track to a different level. Don't expect a crazy club track when you press play, this type of EDM is cooled out and meant for relaxing. Great track to zone out to after a long day at work...#ShadowOfTheSun

Going on an Adventure with The Chainsmokers

Good things tend to happen when two great groups join forces. Unbeknownst to most of us, The Chainsmokers and Adventure Club have been friends for quite some time. The irony with that being until about a month ago, Adventure Club was the more well-known act among pop culture. That all changed in the past month when #Selfie went viral, thanks in some part to the timing of Ellen's widely shared record breaking selfie tweet from The Oscars.

Now, you may have even heard #Selfie being played during March Madne$$. Yea, exposure like that is pretty huge when CBS comes knocking. Blowing up aside, Alex and Drew did a heck of a job putting their spin on Adventure Club's most well known single Wonder. In true Chainsmokers fashion, they were able to steer the original version in a very easy-listening progressive house direction. Word has it the track will hit iTunes on April 29th, so until then, feel free to keep streaming below...#SelfieTour

"I Know I Should Have Treated You Better"

Ah yes, an EDM track that I can cool out to. With the help of The Kite String Tangle, Adventure Club crafted an easy-listening electronic ballad. The steady tempo is a huge contrast to some of their previous dubstep tracks like Retro City, but the melodic vocals on the track fit well with their sound on tracks like Gold and Rise & Fall. In case you missed it, Adventure Club released their four track Calling All Heroes EP on iTunes this week. I'm not sure about you, but there will always be a place in my music library for easy-listening electronic music that I can appropriately cool out to after a stressful week...#CallingAllHeroes

Adventure Club Got That Thunder Clap

Usually I associate Adventure Club closely with what dubstep should sound like, but it sounds like they're not about to be keyholed anytime soon. Case in point, their newest single, Thunder Clap. Make no mistake about it, the track goes hard and falls under the reverberating, club bangers category of EDM. By my count, they're 2 for 2 on singles of late, which has me pretty excited for their upcomingCalling All Heroes EP, due out October 22nd. As a side note, I appreciate their cover art above and the general Space Ghost style superhero theme should play well with any electronic music listening audience...#Thunderclap

Adventure Club & Yuna Make Gold Together

Last weekend I did my best to organize six months worth of music into a data cd mix for a friend. That friend isn't as up on music and how it has evolved over the past year, so I found myself trying really hard to divide up EDM into sub-genres. What I ended up doing was creating four sub-categories: Slow Pop EDM, Trap, Fast EDM and Dance. The only sub-genre I really had trouble with were dubstep tracks like the one below from Adventure Club. I found that there wasn't enough pure dubstep in my collection to warrant a full folder, so I ended up putting most of the substep tracks into Slow Pop EDM.

If push came to shove that's what I would have dubbed Gold because it has it's fair share of build ups and drops, but the slow and steady tempo is much more suited for radio than a club. Yuna's vocals will draw you in the same way Ellie Goulding with here comparably sultry vocals. The real highlight of the track happens around the 2:57 mark where Adventure Club do their best to show out and prove why they're one of the best. Even if you're not a fan of the slower EDM ballads, you'll appreciate the ending of the track if you enjoy dubstep, so don't give up on it prematurely...#AdventureDub

Someday Ultra Music Festival...Some...day

Sigh...this post is an ode to one of the many times I've gotten the "why didn't I just fork over the money to go to that festival" feeling of remorse. Evidently over 320,000 people attended the Ultra Music Festival last month in Miami, which to me means that literally everyone in the world was there except for me. It didn't help much watching the promo recap video either...

Man, that video sure makes it seem like nobody who attended had fun. Looking back at the lineups for Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 literally makes me want to vomit. Seeing Avicii go on right before Tiesto on day one, then getting to see Deadmau5 and Swedish House Mafia headline the next two nights = mind blowing.

The videos aren't quite adequate replacements for the experience, but it's a whole lot better than nothing. The one really cool thing about the festival is that they taped damn near every set and you can watch them for free on the Ultra Musicfest TV YouTube Channel. Whoever made the decision to use the Adventure Club remix of Yuna's Lullabies made a very good decision... #ForeverInMyMind

Take an Adventure to Retro City

I think I'm getting closer to the core of why I'm a fan of Dubstep. As you all may have figured out, Hip Hop is where my musical fire started and as a kid growing up I was heavily influenced by DJ Screw and the whole screwed and chopped movement. I think Dubstep is to EDM what screwed and chopped is to Hip Hop for me.

Enter @AdventureDub who does Dubstep about as well as anyone in the game today. They mix fast and slow extraordinarily well on Retro City, mixing breakneck EDM pace and eventually slow it down, but crank it up with some epic drops. One thing I will say, you've gotta be in a party mood to get down to this one. It's pretty "rich" and is packed with volume and energy to the point where it's either a really good or really bad track based on your mood. Right now I'm enjoying it though because it's Sunday and I'm craking it the f word up...#WeekendsWin.

"With Our Eyes Wide Open, We Rise and Fall"

If you haven't heard of @AdventureDub yet, the track below should serve as a solid example of what to expect. With the help of @krewella, the duo of Christian Srigley & Leighton James managed to put together a solid single that has the potential to gain traction on radio. Given that Dubstep/EDM is becoming more and more mainstream by the day, it's not a stretch to predict radio success.

No word on when this will surface on an album, but given that the duo is from Montreal and Montreal loves dance music, you can bet they'll have a following in no time. For more of their new stuff feel free and check out their Soundcloud page or Facebook page for updates. And if you're a fan of the song below, you'll also appreciate Need Your Heart, which is even more Dubstep friendly. Who doesn't appreciate something that's Dubstep friendly? #NoFriendOfMine
