Remixing the original version of your own track is becoming a popular thing to do these days. While it might be easy to knock DJs for continuing to recycle rather than coming up with new material, I've been a big fan of the majority of the re-creations. If you'd like to add another to the list of re-creations, Djemba Djemba's newly flipped version of Give It To The Moment deserves it's fair share of limelight. Where the original allows Kiesza to shine with a more gradual tempo, the remix is much faster and trappy. Both are great productions by Djemba Djemba, but I'm a sucker for the chipmunk samples and bouncy bass, so if you pushed me to pick one I'd go with the newer version. This week, you can expect a few standouts mixed in with some humor. Leading the way is the 30 minute documentary style story that Complex put together on Shady Records. The documentary features a lot of interesting commentary from Eminem, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre and Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg. The parts focused on the signing of Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf toward the end were most interesting to me because I had always wondered what led to all the worthwhile lyricists in Hip Hop being gobbled up by Shady Records.

On the music side of the fence, Big Sean brought his A game with Drake and Kanye on the Blessings video. I'll say this, Dark Sky Paradise deserved to make it to the top of the charts. Speaking of top of the charts, that's where Major Lazer's new single Lean On is headed. Lyric videos can be so easily botched, but the vivid imagery did the track justice in their case. Finally, ending the week with some humor is never a bad thing. Led by DJs from around the world talking about the craziest things they've witnessed on stage and finishing with Action Bronson's entertaining interview on Dan Le Batard's Highly Questionable...#MrWonderful

Take Ü There Got a Makeover by LDRU

I've posted a few LDRU remixes and each one has been better than the last. This time he decided to tackle Jack Ü's latest single Take Ü There. Below is the original version of the track for reference...

The remix leverages the original vocals from Kiesza, but slows it down a bit, adding in twangy synths that gives the beat a bit more bounce. In hindsight, the beat sounds a lot more stripped down and easy-going, which isn't a surprise given that LDRU is known for Trop House. Quick aside, after seeing Thomas Jack in Tahoe at Snow Globe, I can definitely say that Trop House is thriving and continuing to grow like a weed in popularity. If there's one thing I have a rooting interest for in the music world, it's that Tropical House continues to become mainstay in popular music...#TropHouse

Skrillo and Diplex Will Jack U

After months of rumors and anticipation, we finally have something tangible to hold onto with regards to the formation of the EDM super duo Jack U. Diplo and Skrillex are now making music together, which seems like a match made in heaven. You've got Skrillex's dubstep mastery with Diplo's unique blend of tribal percussion and trap samples. It's like make your own ice cream sundae bar and you decide, what the hell let's put all the toppings on this already delicious ice cream base.

On Take U There, they enlist the high pitched vocal support of Kiesza to create a booming, clanging, popping symphony of madness. You can hear both styles coming together and while it's very rough around the edges, it serves as the preview of the potential that is to come in future releases. If I were anywhere near New York on New Years eve, I would be buying tickets right now for their New Years Eve bash. Listening to it digitally is one thing, but seeing both of these guys live on the same stage would be something else...#JackU
