"Why the Hell'd You Put That Black Dress On?"

Oh man, when you haven't heard any grown and sexy R&B for a while, it's like free dessert when you're not expecting it. Such soul in the mix from Jamie Foxx with plenty of sultry percussion and a smooth bassline. Maybe it's because every woman has a sexy black dress, but there's something about the lyrics that make the imagination run on overdrive. Ain't My Fault is the second single in two weeks Jamie has let loose, following up his latest party favorite with 2 Chainz. Let's hope the pending litigation with the track goes smoothly so that there are no bumps in the road leading to a new album from the multitalented Foxx...#AintMyFault

"I Wonder Why I Never Learned My Lesson, It’s Feeling Like the Second Chance and It's the First Impression"

On first reaction, this is one of the better R&B slow jam collaborations I've heard in quite a while. There are slow jams and then there are BMM slow jams, this one falling on the latter side of the spectrum as Jamie harmonizes his way seductively out the speakers before giving way to yet another introspective, poetic verse delivered by ADG. I swear the slower the track, the more @drakkardnoir is able to shine with his slightly personal, but always coherent and eloquent descriptions of the well delivered subject matter.

This time the subject just so happens to be that type of girl that you always end up falling for. Whether that be the chick who is the life of the party and always up for an adventure, or the stylish chick who is crazy beautiful, but you always end up going home with a shopping bag of stuff that's only half yours...or even the girl with the piercing eye contact that is curvy like a cello and constantly affectionate...we all have our "types" and too often they're based mainly on looks and as a result, type becomes a word synonymous with "vice" rather than "acquired taste". But through the years we learn to never trust a big butt and a smile and those who are confident enough to keep refining their "type" are always the ones that prevail. #My2Pennies + #ADimeWorthKeeping = #PlentySense

Read along while you press play below and fast forward to the 2:33 mark for Drizzy's verse...
"Look, dress hanging off your shoulder, barely sober
Telling me how you moving away and starting over
Girl, quit playing you just drunk, you just saying sh**
Oh you dance, dance like how, like ballet and sh**
Oh, wait, no, I get it girl, I’m with it
I’ve been down this road before and yeah I skidded but forget it
Damn, yeah, I wonder why I never why I learned my lesson
It’s feeling like the second chance and its the first impression
And I heard it’s nothing new except for someone new
But how you supposed to find the one when anyone will come with you
Talking to myself but I never listen,
Cuz man it’s been a while, and I swear that this ones different
That’s why I’mma take you anywhere you wanna go
Let you meet my friends so they can lecture me again about
How reckless I have been
And I’m slowly running out of all the time that I invest in
Making all the same mistakes
And I’m just trying to correct it and I fall..."
This one will be found on Jamie's upcoming album Body, due out December 14th. Shouts out to @ovo40 on the beat, set it off real propa like. Don't be afraid to slow it down for a hot minute folks, there's no better way to set the mood than with a track this smooth...

808 Check: Jamie Foxx feat T.I. - Yep That's Me

Ain't nothin' better than a southern swap dripped banger chalked full of that 808 club bass. This time coming from jack of all trades, Jamie Foxx off his upcoming album Body. I'm guessing this track will be the second single off the album, following up his omnipotent first single Winner, which was played on any and every NBA playoffs telecast, giving it an unstoppable buzz.

Between the bouncy and boulder heavy bass, it's damn near impossible not to shrug your shoulders to the beat. Serious credit should go to Eric Hudson for the creation of this booty shakin' joint that will probably put on repeat in clubs like Magic City, The Cheetah Lounge and Claremont Lounge. Shoot I'd even go as far as to say it'll get more than a few spins at the increasingly popular Miami T&A hot spot The King of Diamonds. Sidebar: Since when do strip clubs have a fashion boutique, beauty salon, tanning salon, full body massages, fine dining menu, a barber shop and even a basketball court?? #NoWonderItsHot

For all you @TIP fans, you'll appreciate the the measured, mean-mugged-out vibe he gives on his verse. The nonchalance he exudes on his verse fits the slow, loud and bangin' beat to T, giving it a PB&J sorta fit on the track. I'm not tryin' to discount the R&B flavor Jamie brings to the track either, he's got that same ATL swag that gives a vocal boost to the awe inspiring beat.

Not much more to say, better do some neck rolls before this track comes on and you have no choice but to nod your head...

Perfect March Madness Song: Jamie Foxx feat T.I. & Justin Timberlake - Winner

Jamie Jamie Jamie...come on man you just missed the BIGGEST opportunity with this track. Here I am doin' my daily rounds this week frequenting the blogs and various social media outlets and I come across a collaboration of this magnitude. Just on name recognition, instant interest, in fact it was one of tracks that soon as I saw it finished on my Download Statusbar, I immediately double clicked and listened to.

I guess you can say after first listen I was satisfied, neither overwhelmed nor disappointed. After more thorough listens this week while at the gym, I started liking it even more, but eventually frustration set in when I realized the opportunity that was missed when a track like this didn't end up being THE song for March Madness. I mean damn if O.A.R. can pull off a song of the summer for the Baseball College World Series, why couldn't this track's release have been moved up maybe two months in preparation for March Madness?

The chorus begs to included in mid-game highlights on CBS:
"I feel like I can’t miss
I know they want me to fall
But ain’t nothing bigger than this
So just pass me the ball
You know you looking at a winner
I can’t miss, Can’t lose, Can’t miss
You know you looking at winner
`Cause I’m a winner
Yeah I’m a winner
"
I mean seriously, whoever is in charge of marketing at J Records missed a HUUUGGEE opportunity with the lyrics, which went perfectly with the positive and clean, radio friendly vibe of the track. Additionally, what better way for T.I. to get his name out there after coming out of jail recently?? Hats off to Rob Knox who laid the beat down real nice and really shined the limelight on T.I.'s verse, dumbing down the beat and letting T.I. do his thing. Who is Rob Knox you may ask, well he produced these tracks too: T.I. - Dead and Gone, Chris Brown - Lottery and Britney Spears - Mannequin. Even better, Rob is part of probably the most underrated trio of producers know as The Y's and consist of him, Justin Timberlake and one of my favorite demo singers/ writers James Fauntleroy. Considering all the elements that went into the song, the timing would have been perfect, buuuut somebody really dropped the ball...(pun intended).

Regardless of record label/marketing missteps, I encourage you to rock this track before, after, during the games this weekend and moving on to the Final Four (Naptown stand up!!)....
