Missing Avicii? Have No Fear, Syn Cole Has Your Back

Those who were heartbroken over Avicii's retirement must be feeling like a huge void in the melodic house music space. To those fans, I say worry not because Syn Cole is about the best proxy you're going to find for inspirational, feel good EDM. His new single Follow Me is a stellar effort featuring the vocals of acoustic artist Joshua Radin. Between the piano lead in, the soulful vocals, and ever-so-bubbly chord progression post-drop, this has all the makings of a Top 40 hit. It's the type of track that I'll have on heavy repeat for the coming weeks because of it's easy-listening vibrance. Do yourself a favor and cop the original version on iTunes or the more clubby version a listen or better yet, add it to your recent Spotfiy playlist like I did...#FollowMe

Looking for a storybook EDM track? Look no further than Syn Cole's new one Bright Lights. It has a really catchy harmony, but get's after it with a crisp chord progression. Nowadays EDM tracks seem to be getting more and more uptempo between drops, but me, I like a track that can play the whole spectrum. It will tease you, it will tantalize, but it will also hit the gas when it needs an injection of energy. Jury is still out whether or not this Syn Cole fellow will be able to live up to being Avicii's protege, but Bright Lights is certainly cut from the same cloth, which makes it hard for me to not be optimistic for his future...#SynCole

If Only Sunny Weather Music Brought Warm Weather

With winter winning every weekly battle with mother nature, it's refreshing to have an audio shot of warm weather every now and again. The summery vibe that Norwegian producer Kygo injected into Syn Cole's Miami 82 will find a way to warm your thermostat a few degress. I like that Kygo kept the original melody, while seamlessly adding in some bubbly and calming synths. With just over 1,200 favorites on hypem in the past 21 hours, it's pretty clear that a lot of folks around the world need some chill in their lives...#ChillHouse

Avicii's Le7els Makes Synful Music

I linked to this track earlier this week, but after a couple listens, I've deemed it worthy of a full post. Long story short from earlier in the week, Syn Cole is the young Skywalker to Avicii 's Hans Solo. This week he has been taking turns with Avicii remixing each other's tracks in an attempt to get Syn's name out there.

It's a tough call, but I think I like Syn's remix of Hey Brother over Avicii's mix of Miami 82. The injection of progressive house into the original's country vibe gave the track a new identity that made me fall in love with it all over it. I'm not sure about you guys, but I'm excited about the music the young Estonian is putting out and I'm eager to hear what's next...#SynCole

Introducing Avicii's Protege Syn Cole

For many successful artists, the logical next step after mainstream success is building their own records label. Case in point the newly anointed EDM artists of the year, Avicii, who is beginning to build up his own stable of artists through his LE7ELS record label. The first to come out of his stable is Syn Cole, a young Estonian producer who should be on everyone's short list of breakout artists in 2014.

In an attempt to kickstart that campaign, Avicii remixed his new single Miami 82. The track is a crisp, organized effort that is every bit as sharp as it is well-composed. I've got a feeling this is only the beginning, in fact, I might even post Syn's remix of Hey Brother at some point this week. Either way, heads up, he's a name you need to know...#Miami82
