"When You Touch Me, It's so Powerful"

In case you didn't already have enough incentive to go out and cop Major Lazer's new album Peace is the Mission, here comes yet another single to add to the mountain of recent ones. It's way more pop than you're used to with the characteristically bubbly tribal rhythms of Diplo's crew, but it speaks to their versatility. They don't make a type of music other than good music, which is something many other niche artists who know one path to success can't claim.

Sure, it helps the Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley bring the heat vocally on Powerful. While the beat is usually the reason you tune in to hear Major Lazer, it does a good job of providing enough glue to hold together the vocals in this case. Peace is the Mission hits iTunes tomorrow and my only beef with the album is that it's nine songs. I'll admit, when I first saw Andy Samberg featured on a Major Lazer track, I was more than a little intrigued. Bass Drop is a bit of a head scratched because it's not currently listed on the tracklist for Major Lazer's upcoming album Peace is the Mission. That being said, you're not going to hear me complaining because the video and song are pure fire. You'll need to press play below to figure that out...

The Samberg feature is a bit distorted, but given the lyrics, the shoe seems to fit. The video above also continues a streak of lyric video dominance by Major Lazer. I'm starting to question whether they ever need to spend the money to make a real video when all their lyric videos are even more entertaining. Who knows whether or not this track will find its way onto their new album, but if they were trying to build up hype for their upcoming July release and hype their new cartoon on FXX, then mission accomplished...#BassDrop

This is the second slice of awesomeness let loose by Major Lazer in the past few weeks. Both Roll the Bass and Lean On are going to surface on their upcoming album, Peace is the Mission, which is due on June 1st. Yes, it's a bummer that there are only nine songs on their upcoming album, but if they're as high quality as their two current releases, I've got no problem with it.
