
Back in late August, video surfaced of Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff debuting some new music at the Livewire Festival. It wasn't just any new music, though, it was a completely synth driven, hard hitting dance track. Check the video below for context if you missed it...
At the time I was skeptical the track would be released as a single, but two weeks ago, the song finally landed on Spotify. As much as I want to write it off and hate on it, I'll admit, I gave it a few listens. Sure, it comes off a bit forced with the quasi-Jamaican accents and repetitive beat, but it's a hype track. There's an undeniable kitschy-ness about it, but I can envision a world where this momentarily ignites a club on South Beach. I'd even go as far as saying I might like it even more if I didn't know the artists who responsible for Get Lit. Take that for what it's worth, but it's an intriguing foray into the unknown from a duo that were mainstays of my 90s playlists...#GetLit
